Histopathological Diagnosis of Hysterectomy Specimens in Abnormal Uterine Bleeding

Background: Abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) is a common and distressing condition effecting predominantly perimenopausal women. Heavy menstrual (HMB) the most presentation of AUB. There are many structural non causes Histopathology endometrial curettings well studies before but histopathological patterns hysterectomy specimens not studied. Objective: The objective this study to: Find out diagnosis in patients Study Design: Retrospective Cohort study. Place Duration Study: Gynecology Pathology departments Azra Naheed Rashid Latif medical colleges from January 2022 to 2023. Methods: reports all hysterectomies done for AUB both allied hospitals were retrieved retrospectively evaluated detail. Four age groups defined 30-40 years, 41-50, 51-60 61-70 years. Various recorded overall separately each group results established. Results: A total 221 abdominal histopathology evaluated. All performed during one year period between 40(18.09%) women years age, 134(60.6%) 41-50 39(17.6%) 08(3.61%) age. Distorted proliferative phase endometrium was seen 28(12.6%) cases, Adenomyosis 76(34.38%), polyps 19(8.55%), fibroids 92(41.6%), metaplasia 07(3.1%), hyperplasia 10(4.5%), carcinoma 09 (4.07%) cases.
